Project brief · AK-MIBU-1AE9
The client, the desk, and why it is outsourced.
Everything a BPO service provider needs before deciding whether to apply.
Corps Constructions
A construction platform rather than a conventional contractor. It takes projects from the market, awards the execution to contractors registered on its panel, sources materials through registered vendors, collects payment from the owner and pays the contractors against measured progress.
On larger projects the company acts as principal contractor and carries the contract itself. On smaller ones the contractor signs directly with the owner and the company earns a commission for originating, structuring and supervising the work. The threshold between the two models sits around the ₹25 lakh mark and is applied by the technical team, never by the desk.
Corps Constructions sits within The Corps Ventures group, whose other interests include a healthcare network and an investment programme. The construction business is the one being supported here.
| Sector | Construction and project delivery |
|---|---|
| Model | Panel of registered contractors and vendors |
| Desk type | Business development and coordination |
| Primary territory | Tamil Nadu, expanding south |
| Contract holder | Akontec Synergy Pvt Ltd |
| Portal reference | milyadir_business_support |
Site teams cannot sell, and salespeople cannot be on site.
Enquiries die in transit
An enquiry that reaches a project engineer on a live site gets a call back three days later, by which time the owner has spoken to two other builders.
Tenders need daily attention
Portals publish and close on their own calendar. Missing a prequalification window costs a whole bidding cycle and there is no way to recover it.
Follow-up runs for months
A proposal issued in March may convert in September. Nobody inside a construction company has the discipline to run a six-month cadence on fifty open proposals.
Territory coverage is expensive
Putting business development staff in four districts costs several times more than covering the same ground from a desk with a CRM behind it.
Four tiers, and a different play in each.
Territory ownership is deliberate. The same agent holds the same districts for the term, because in construction the relationship with an architect or a PMC is worth more than any individual enquiry.
| Tier | Covers | Primary targets | Approach |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Chennai metro and adjoining districts | Developers, plot owners, architects, PMCs, interior and fit-out firms | Highest call density, site visits within 48 hours |
| Tier 2 | Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Salem | Regional builders, industrial units, educational and healthcare institutions | Weekly territory sweep, visits batched by trip |
| Tier 3 | Remaining Tamil Nadu districts | Individual house construction, small commercial, warehousing | Referral-led, contractor-panel-led |
| Tier 4 | Out-of-state enquiries | Anything inbound | Qualified and logged, escalated to the technical team for a feasibility call |
Who is responsible for what.
| Area | Corps Constructions | Akontec | You |
|---|---|---|---|
| Process ownership | Owns the business and the panel | Owns process design and the contract | Owns execution on the floor |
| Pricing and estimates | Prepares every estimate and proposal | Defines the requirement sheet and the turnaround | Collects requirements, never prices work |
| Site visits | Sends the technical team | Defines the scheduling rule and the SLA | Schedules, confirms and reconfirms |
| Tenders | Decides bid or pass; signs and submits | Funds the portal subscriptions | Monitors, screens and packs the recommendation |
| People | — | Trains and certifies | Hires, employs, pays and retains |
| Technology | Provides the project ERP | Provisions CRM, portal access, dashboards | Seats, dialler, SIP, connectivity, power |
| Money | Pays Akontec | Pays you on certified seats | Pays salaries and running cost |
You never contract with Corps Constructions directly and never invoice them. A 24-month non-circumvention clause covers the client, its panel contractors, its vendors and its introduced contacts — which on this project matters more than usual, because the panel is the asset.
The numbers to plan capacity against.
Planning basis for staffing, not a promise of volume.
| Measure | Planning basis | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Outbound dials, Desk A | 70–90 / agent / day | Business development. Connect rates are low; conversations are long. |
| Named prospects owned, Desk A | 250–400 / agent | Territory book, worked on a 45-day touch cycle. |
| Tenders screened, Desk B | 60–120 / day | Across portals; roughly 3–8 a day survive first screening. |
| Inbound enquiries, Desk C | 25–50 / day | Website, listings, referrals and the panel. |
| Site visits scheduled | 30–60 / month | The desk's most-watched output measure. |
| Open proposals under follow-up | 120–260 | Rolling. Cadence runs to D180. |
| Usable minutes per agent per shift | 435 | 540 shift, less 60 break, 20 huddle, 25 CRM admin. |
| Seats at go-live | 15 + 1 team lead | 5 / 3 / 4 / 3 across the four desks. |
| Headcount to hire | 18 | 18% shrinkage allowance. |
Twenty-two working days.
